Director's Notes
As an artist and filmmaker it has been my personal advocacy to spread awareness on suicide and mental health issues through film, art & literature, especially with the recent passing of the Philippine Mental Health Law (Republic Act No. 11036)
I was fortunate enough to reconnect with my childhood friend Lamaroc and wanted to share his unique story of dealing with depression through breakdancing. This film is about finding hope even in the most unconventional of ways such as hip-hop dance.
Anthony “Lamaroc” Lawang is an Australian-born, Filipino B-Boy who has competed and judged at various local and international hip-hop dance competitions. He currently teaches breakdancing to children and youth in his community in Melbourne.
